Fairy Meadows - Nanga Parbat

Nanga Parbat at 8,125 meters, 2nd highest Peak in Pakistan and the 9th highest in the world is one of the most beautiful mountains in the World. It almost forms the western end of Himalayan range, meeting the Karakorams by the Indus and Fairy Meadows have no match in its scenic beauty and atmosphere.

Driving on Karakoram Highway along mighty River Indus is another unforgettable experience of lifetime while the Raikot (Fiary Meadows) face of Nanga Parbat offers excellent area for a first trek in this mighty play-ground of mountaineers. The trek offers plenty of flexibility, as we stay at Fairy Meadows & Beyal - taking excursions to Nanga Parbat’s base camp and also some interesting walks around Fairy Meadows with commanding views. Those who prefer a quite relaxing day could stay at camp and get mesmerized by the views.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: Islamabad – Besham – Chilas

We depart early and drive to Besham via Haripur, Abbottabad and Mansehra. After a short break at Besham, we resume our drive on Karakoram Highway, along River Indus. We will make photo stops at Dubair Fall and Shatial Rocks with ancient graffiti's on it. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day 02 : Chilas – Raikot Bridge – Fairy Meadows

We depart for Raikot Bridge and en-route some interesting carvings can be seen on the rocks at Chilas, even from the window of your vehicle. We drive for 50 kms crossing the dwellings of Bunar and Gonar Farm to reach at Raikot Bridge, where we will board into jeeps for another adventurous jeep ride to Tato/Jail, the last jeep stop at Jail (if the track permitted) and after a brief rest there, we will start walk to Fairy Meadows. it is a hike of about three hours plus to the legendary place Fairy Meadows, which is truly named with stunning views of Nanga Parbat. At Fairy Meadows, we will stay in comfortably furnished log tents or wooden cabins with all time view of the massif Nanga Parbat in front of us.

Day 03: Fairy Meadows – Beyal Camp

A soft trek of two to three hours, walking through the dense pine forest and later through birch trees and along shallow streams, takes us to Beyal, a summer settlement of shepherds with stunning views of Nanga Parbat - 8125m. At Beyal, we stay in log cabins or tents and enjoy memorable time under the shadow of lofty peaks.

Day 04: Beyal Camp – Excursion Nanga Parbat Base Camp

Optional hike to base camp crossing tails of glaciers with well identified track. At base camp, a monument had been erected in the memory of climbers died on the mountain. After a packed cold picnic lunch at base camp, we will return to Beyal and keep on walking to Fairy Meadows. Arrive Fairy meadows and rest in the evening and then enjoy a unique and memorable night at the foot of Nanga Parbat and in the land of fairies with bonfire.

Day 05: 05 Fairy Meadows – Besham

After an early breakfast, we start walking down to Jail and drive to Raikot Bridge and onwards driving on KKH and crossing Chilas, we arrive in Besham in the evening. At Besham we enjoy a night along the swiftly flowing River Indus.

Day 06: Besham – Islamabad

Making an early departure for Islamabad, we make a short break at Khanpur for water sports/activities (at your own). Resuming our drive, reach back Islamabad and drop at one designated place.
